Different Shades (live)

about

This song is a fun little folk tune with a little time signature twist i used to make it less typical. I guess the chorus is catchy because it didn’t take long before all my audiences were singing along. This song became a staple tune for family jams and definitely the most requested. It’s about how we’re all the same, we’re all humans and all these differences we see on the outside of race and religion are just different versions of the same content. This song was recorded for Your/Self (2008).

lyrics

You and me we got some food
Let’s share it all let’s not be rude
There’s enough to go around
We harvested it from the ground

Love is patient Love is kind
The love you seek is the love you’ll find
We gotta learn to love eachother
Cuz we’re all different shades of the same color

The sunny sky that makes the flowers grow
Is the same dark sky that brings the snow
We’re all looking at the same stars
They’re gleaming there not near not far

Love is patient Love is kind
The love you seek is the love you’ll find
We gotta learn to love eachother
Cuz we’re all different shades of the same color

whistle solo

Love is patient Love is kind
The love you seek is the love you’ll find
We gotta learn to love eachother
Cuz we’re all different shades of the same color
Yeah we’re all different shades of the same color
