about

As you may have noticed I didn’t really write love songs at this time in my life. I found love songs to be too cheesy and I hated writing them because they never felt original. I much preferred writing about the complicated mess that love really was. I wrote this song after listening to my roommate talk about this man she was falling for and as a young woman of course to her it was all a very mystical experience. I guess my virgo sensibility prevailed with the first line of the first verse and the rest of the song followed suit. This song was recorded for my very first EP called Labour of Love 2006.

lyrics

You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, how could this happen, how?
You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, don’t ask the questions how

You got this look in your face like it’s something you can’t change
There are no words to erase, in my head I arrange
In my head I arrange

You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, how could this happen, how?
You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, don’t ask the questions how

You start to sweep the floor and then it all hits ya
You are asking for more than he can give you
You are asking for more than he can give you

You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, how could this happen, how?
You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, don’t ask the questions how

Love is beauty and eyes are wild fires
Truth brings the rain, grace brings the sunshine again
Truth brings the rain, grace brings the sunshine again

You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, how could this happen, how?
You’re falling in love baby
You’re falling in love baby, don’t ask the questions how
