about

Around the time I wrote this song I was learning about the moon cycles and it’s effects on my menstrual cycles and also the growth of plants. I was learning that the full moon symbolized ovulation and creative fruition while the new moon symbolized menstruation and turning into yourself for a time of healing. Mike helped me find some fancier chords for the chorus and bridge since he’s a better guitar player than me.

lyrics

It’s been two moons since we began this journey
It’ll be two more before the seasons change
Who knows where this tide will take us
Let’s hold fast before things rearrange

Full Moon shed your light down brighter
Move us from season to season
New moon turn our hearts gently inward
Heal us, give some rhyme to our reason
Some rhyme to our reason

It takes two moons to plant a seedling
It’ll take two more to see it fully bloom
Who knows what this garden will grow us
Let’s beathe out and trust growth will come soon

Full Moon shed your light down brighter
Move us from season to season
New moon turn our hearts gently inward
Heal us, give some rhyme to our reason
Some rhyme to our reason
